You are welcome! Please let me introduce you to a Christian...

Looking, learning, growing and following
Step by step, he’s imitating Jesus;
Leaning, trusting, overcoming and testifying
Over sin and self, becoming victorious.

Wisdom, melody, worship, thanksgiving...
Applying his heart to things pure and praise worthy.
Yielding body, intellect, substance and everything -
His instruments to bring God glory.

Seeking, praying, blessing and supporting
Pursuing at being no more than a servant
Loving, touching, healing and forgiving,
For no vain glory or selfish interest.

Being a citizen, neighbor, worker or lover
Bringing Christ to his every station.
An encourager, healer and peacemaker;
Being a Christian is his primary occupation.

If he falls, it’s only so he’ll rise again.
He is what he is by the grace of God.
He has no past to defend and nothing to feign -
He’s what God says he is, he’s a man of God.

Poetry: Faith in a Friend

Indeed I have a friend
Who remains true to the end
Loving Him sparks a flame in my spirit
He is not weak like I am
Yet feels my every pain
Praising Him turns the light on in my soul. Read the full article here …

World News Bits: Internet Churches

The concept of Internet churches may be new or unheard of by many believers, I came across it for the first time in a poll by christianet.com. The online opinion poll in which about 600 Christians participated, asked: Are Internet Churches Biblical? The following is an excerpt from the report.

Drug Cartel, La Familia, claims to be devout Evangelical Christians

La Familia is a mafia group, that lays claims to being followers of Jesus. Their notoriety as one of Mexico’s most violent gangs began in 2006, but according to time.com (http://bit.ly/4oM5D8, June 19, 2009), the effort to forge their own religious sect is more recent and is probably the most ludicrous news I have come across in a long time.

Jos Crisis: July 2010 Updates

Flashes of violence resurfaced again in and around Jos, Plateau State, in the month of July, just when we were beginning to hope that the troubled waters were eventually getting still.

One sad Saturday, the 17th of July it was reported in the news, how some religious extremists attacked Mazah, a predominantly Christian village in Jos North Local Government Area , killing about 10 people with machetes and burning seven houses and a church.

Mission quotes

“Reaching the unreached is a challenging task, but our primary problem is not the cultural, economic, logistical or political barriers we face. It is more simple: we lack sufficient manpower.” – Justin Long, “Where are We Going?” in Momentum Magazine, July/ August, 2006

A fresh lease on life – personal experience

“We are approaching the toll gate now, I think.” I said to the lady at the other end of the line.

“Ok no probs, we are expecting you.” ‘Motara replied twice. She is the groom’s younger sister, she invited us.

Ifemakin sat behind His steering wheel, looking strangely vigilant. Read the full article here …

Victory over sin

The believer’s primary victory in salvation is victory over sin. The unbeliever may approach Christ with the burden of guilt, sinful, dishonorable habits or lifestyle etc., believing that Christ’s acceptance of him implies that all is forgiven and he is justified to begin a brand new life.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2Co 5:17

Unfortunately for some who have received Christ, they struggle with believing that God has forgiven them, especially if they find it hard to forgive themselves or if some other people wouldn’t forgive them.

Repentance can be even more difficult. Read the full article here …

Gospel Watch

The call to prayer is an earnest call upon every true believer. You can commit to pray each day for atleast one of the least reached people groups in the world using the information provided (in the box to the right side) by the Joshua Project with unreached people groups rotated daily. God bless you as you join in.

How To Pray

Pray that God will open up avenues for the preaching of the gospel to this people group. Col 4:3

pray that every obstacle hindering this people group from accessing the gospel will be removed. 2Cor 4:3,4; 1 Cor 16:9

Pray for missionaries sent and to be sent to this people that God will strenghten and uphold them in face of challenges and give to them increasing oppurtunities for more effective work. Eph 6:19,20; 2Thes 3:1-3; Acts4:29

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Mt 24:14 (KJV)
